Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwich

Serves 1

Here is a healthy twist on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Peanut butter and honey sandwiches are great for road trips, hiking trips, and any other time you need a small boost of energy. I use sliced banana in this recipe, but sliced strawberry or apple are just as good!

Ingredients

2 slices whole wheat bread
3 tbsp organic peanut butter
1 tbsp honey
1 thinly sliced banana (optional)

Directions

Toast both sides of wheat bread. In a small bowl, mix together peanut butter and honey. Spread peanut butter and honey mixture onto one side of each slice of bread. Place the two slices together and cut diagonally. Optional, add thinly sliced banana to one slice of bread after spreading peanut butter mixture.

Healthy Benefits
Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein as well as vitamin E, and honey is chock full of antioxidants. Bananas (if you include them in this recipe) provide a great source of potassium and help improve your blood pressure!
