The Munchies

It’s that time of day again. You know what I’m talking about. It’s finally that long stretch of period between lunch and dinner where you go without food.

But wait.

You realize that you don’t have to suffer a growling stomach at all. There the vending machine is right around the corner! Our hero! (Sadly to say)

Whether it’s between the three meals of the day, during TV time, or any other idle occasion – we all have times when we need something crunchy, crispy, tasty to munch on.

However, that doesn’t have to mean junk food!

Here are some great recipes for the munchies that are so healthy and yummy that you will forget that they were even homemade!

munch on these

Perfect Popcorn
I am a huge fan of popcorn. What I’m not a big fan of is that depressed, unhealthy feeling you get after munching on microwavable “butter lover” junk. I usually feel as if I’m about to clog an artery, among other things. That’s why making my own popcorn is so satisfying. This recipe will show you how to make the perfect batch of popcorn that will leave your mind and stomach smiling.

Peanutty Popcorn
You’ll feel like you are spoiling yourself after you taste this peanutty popcorn. And what could be easier to make? It is simply the perfect popcorn recipe with an easy to make peanut mixture poured on top. Add in a few raisins and sunflower seeds and you have guilt-free treat to munch all day long. Well, maybe not all day.

Tortilla Chips
Just because store-bought tortilla chips may taste healthy (plain and flavorless) don’t let them deceive you. Store-bought tortilla chips are often extremely high in sodium, which as we all know may lead to high blood pressure. Therefore, try making these tortilla chips. They taste delicious and have an aromatic touch from the good extra virgin olive oil and spices.
