Fruit Recipes

Fresh fruit is probably as healthy as it gets. Just imagine a cold, sweet, juicy slice of watermelon on a hot summer day. Sounds satisfying, right?

Plus, since fruits are naturally sweet, you don’t have to feel guilty about eating them (like you would with a piece of double fudge chocolate cake)! And with all the disease-preventing antioxidants in them, it’s no wonder why doctors encourage us to eat more fruit.

But honestly, which one are you more likely to reach for: fruit or chips?

Probably chips right? Often times the idea of a piece of fruit sitting in the fridge fails to appear appetizing. It just doesn’t make the cut when it comes to our taste buds.

But fruit doesn’t have to be boring!

Here is a collection of refreshing yet festive healthy snack recipes that put fruit in the spotlight!

munch on these

Frozen Banana Pops
Freezing bananas (or any fruit for that matter) is a great way to enjoy frozen treats, guilt-free! What I found with bananas is that they taste just like ice cream or frozen yogurt after you freeze them for a few hours. Then roll that in zangy yogurt and crunchy cereal. You have the perfect, healthy Popsicle. It’s not a dream, it just tastes like one.

Apples and Cottage Cheese
If you love apples and you love cottage cheese…why not put them together? Hey, don’t give me that look! Although it sounds like an iffy combination, apples and cottage cheese tastes like million bucks. Just imagine biting into a crisp, juicy slice of apple topped with creamy, savory cottage cheese. It is an elegant and very satisfying snack anytime of the day

Frozen Grapes

Frozen Grapes
If you love the taste of grapes and the refreshing texture of sorbet, then you will love frozen grapes. I got this idea from one of my friends and although I was skeptical at first, I am so glad that she introduced it to me. After a busy day, I love to just pop them in my mouth and take a bite into cold, grape bliss.

Strawberries and Yogurt
If you love the taste of strawberries and cream, then you will love strawberries and yogurt. Yogurt and honey make the perfect “cream” topping for those big, juicy strawberries. And who could forget all the health benefits yogurt has? This is the perfect pick-me-up for all those “slump” periods in the day.
